Project 1: Famous Architect's Building
Material Applications: Architectural and Structural
For this project, students were tasked to select an architect and one of their famous architectural works which they were then to do a case study. Based on that case study, students will have to identify 5 architectural building materials and 2 structural materials and have a detailed description of the uses and application of the materials.
Reflection:
This assignment taught me the uses of each material in structural and architectural applications and how they are used effectively for support and appeal. It also taught me on how the architect select materials based on their concept and intentions.
